Hotel Aksaray is basically a very good system that someone designed with correct priorities. Location is the main variable here and the location is, I think, almost optimal - you are in the center of Istanbul, the real center I mean, not the tourist-bubble version of center that some hotels sell you. Everything connects from here. Tram is outside, Grand Bazaar is walking distance, and the whole city logistics beofre you even think about them are already solved.
The hotel is not trying to be luxury. It knows what it is and it executes taht well, which in engineering terms is actually the harder problem than just spending more money. Guests are mostly people who did the correct research - business travellers, European tourists who optimized for location over amenities, some backpackers who upgraded slightly. Staff understand what the job is and they do it. Not complicated, not fancy, just - this is the part where most hotels in this price range fail and Aksaray doesn't.
